Kevin Broxterman

Electrical/Plumbing Department Manager

Value Delivered

Kevin oversees delivery of electrical and plumbing services that help clients effectively meet the difficult challenges they face in today's complex environment. In addition to profit and loss responsibility, he performs job cost reviews and maintains control of project budgets. On electrical projects, he meets with clients to determine the best possible equipment and systems for their needs. He then designs a solution and works with an estimator to calculate the cost. When the client approves the project, he assigns the appropriate technicians and ensures high-quality workmanship with on-time, on-budget project completion. He then checks all systems for operability and enables smooth system turnover. During plumbing projects, he works with his project superintendent and estimator to provide quality service, while controlling project costs. Throughout, his objective is always to deliver expert, high-quality electrical and plumbing services.

Expertise

Kevin has performed field electrical installations for over 25 years. He began his career with Strum Electric Company, where he served a four-year apprenticeship before becoming one of the firm's service electricians. Later, he began handling larger projects. After serving as foreman on the company's Booth Memorial Hospital project in Northern Kentucky, he became a field superintendent with responsibility for managing approximately 25 electricians. He also designed such projects as the Kenton County Water District and Newport pump stations. After operating his own electrical service business for five years, he joined Kuempel Services, where he started the firm's electrical division. He then became one of the company's construction managers, a position he held before Kuempel merged with DeBra, and he took his current post.

Over his diverse career, Kevin has developed expertise in a range of areas. These include lighting and power distribution system installation and maintenance, power wiring; machine, HVAC and fire alarm control installation and maintenance; high-voltage system testing and maintenance, estimating, field and office supervision, and troubleshooting.

Kevin holds an associate degree in electrical engineering from Cincinnati Technical College. A journeyman class electrician, he has Ohio master electrician and fire alarm licenses, and a Kentucky master electrician's license. In addition, he is a contractor trustee of IBEW Local 212's Health and Welfare and Supplementary Unemployment Plan committees. He is also treasurer and a member of the board of directors of the National Electrical Contractors Association's Cincinnati chapter.

Kevin and his wife have four grown children. An active member of Our Lady of Visitation Church, he is also a member of the Cincinnati Bonsai Society and enjoys growing bonsai trees.
