Wally oversees delivery of the consistently high-quality electrical services clients need for efficient and cost-effective facilities management. In addition to acting as primary client liaison, his responsibilities include new business development, engineering and system design, estimating, scheduling, budgeting and purchasing. He also coordinates subcontractors and maintains site safety standards. As a project nears completion, he oversees testing and commissioning, prepares maintenance and operation manuals, and delivers operator training to client personnel. Throughout, his goal is to ensure smooth, reliable on-time, within-budget project completion, while enabling high-performance operation and ongoing value.
Expertise
Before joining DeBra-Kuempel, Wally served as a division manager and later, as power generation/distribution manager for the Wagner Smith Company in Dayton. He also worked as power and process manager for Dynalectric Company and as electrical division manager at Peter Kiewit Sons' Inc. His other posts have included project manager at Fischbach & Moore, Inc., electrical division manager at American Electric Power Service Corporation and electrical project manager at McCullough Oil Corporation.
Wally holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Century University. In addition, he has completed the mechanical and electrical engineering prerequisites at Ohio University and pursued additional studies at Penn State, the College of Eastern Utah, the University of Utah and the University of Nebraska. He has completed the I.C.S. Institute's master electrician program, the Associated Research Academy's relay coordination course, the Multi-Amp Institute's engineering course, the University of Nebraska's construction law and contracts course, and the Westinghouse engineering workshop. A Department of Labor-certified instructor, he has also participated in programs offered through the Technical Communications Center and the U.S. Bureau of Mines Research Academy.
In addition to being a licensed general engineer, Wally is licensed as a class 100 general contractor by the state of Utah and as a specialty contractor by the commonwealth of Virginia.
A Vietnam veteran, he was discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps with the rank of sergeant and holds a top-secret crypto-logic clearance with the National Security Agency. During his marine service tour, he was promoted twice for meritorious action in the line of duty.
The Personal Side
Wally and his wife have four grown children and two grandchildren. When at home, he enjoys fishing and rebuilding cars.
